Biografie

Het vak reumatologie is een “puzzel vak”. Het gaat erom, om de informatie die je van de patiënt krijgt, te combineren met het lichamelijk en aanvullend onderzoek om tot een diagnose te komen. Het zijn deze factoren die het vak voor mij zo interessant maken. De gestelde diagnose is vaak discipline overstijgend. Goed contact met betrokken specialismen is daarom essentieel om goede zorg te kunnen leveren. Dankzij de interactie tussen patiënten, artsen en wetenschappers zijn er steeds betere geneesmiddelen ontwikkeld. Het is deze kruisbestuiving tussen de betrokken partijen die de reumatologie tot een innoverende discipline heeft gemaakt.
